The project, which spanned over 30 months, involved dismantling 2 ammonia plants, 3 urea plants & associated utility facilities, totaling 55,000 tons of assets spread across 2.4 square kilometers. This accomplishment underscores NBTC’s capabilities in executing large-scale & complex projects.
The highlight of the event was the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Hamoud Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah, the Governor of Ahmadi, who graced the occasion.
The event commenced with a warm welcome Mr. Ben Paul (JCDO), followed by the Kuwait National Anthem & a Project introductory speech by Mr. Prince John Mathew (General Manager – Operations).
NBTC Chairman, Mr. Mohammed N. Al-Baddah & Managing Director, Mr. K.G. Abraham, addressed the gathering. Mr. K. G. Abraham delivered an inspiring overview of NBTC’s journey from its inception to its current stature as a major industry leader with over 30,000 employees across Kuwait, UAE, KSA, India, Qatar, and Bahrain. He emphasized the significant support provided by PIC throughout the entire project. His Excellency, the Ahmadi Governor, along with the Chairman and Managing Director of NBTC, presented a memento to PIC as a token of appreciation for their invaluable support during the project.
His Excellency Sheikh Hamoud Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah presented appreciation mementoes to 32 of the project's best performers, lauding NBTC’s remarkable contribution to Kuwait’s industrial landscape.
Mr. Hamd Dhakkeel Badhah, Deputy CEO of Manufacturing and Marketing at PIC, delivered an engaging speech, commending NBTC’s unwavering commitment and exceptional execution. He praised the team for surpassing expectations by completing the project ahead of schedule and overcoming significant challenges, including transferring 46,000 tons of materials within three months.
The event also featured speeches from M/s Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC) managers, including Mr. Fares Saud Al Fares, Mr. Rashid Al Ajmi, Mr. Husain Al Fadhli, and Mr. Ahmed Abdul Ameer Abbas, along with dignitaries from PIC, KNPC, KOC, KIPIC, Equate, Gulf Bank, Commercial Bank, and the Ministry of Interior. Department heads, DMDs, other members of the management team, and NBTC staff also participated in the luncheon session.
The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mr. Manikandan (Project Manager), acknowledging the support and dedication of all stakeholders involved in making this project a resounding success.
